Kite flying is an art that nobody can teach you, yet you acquire the skill when you become a regular. One such attempt was made on India’s Republic Day when the international community in Pune dotted the skyline at Oxford Golf Resort with kites of different hues, shapes, colors, enthusiasm & childlike excitement at the BMW Kite Fest 2017. More than 1200 enthusiasts from more than 20+ nationalities like French, British, Scottish, American, Italian, Canadian, Mexican Belgian Mauritian, Germans, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, New Zealander, Australian, Lebanese, Brazilian, Dutch, Polish& Indians took part in this fun filed open air event! There were Kites of unique shapes like spider-man, eagles, sharks, angry birds, fish, kites with fluttery tails, a train of kites, big kites, and small kites; you name it and it was soaring in the skies.

Besides kites, the event was also action-packed with fun games, arts & crafts activities, test rides from BMW & Ducati, delicious food, lucky draw holidays, and loads of other prizes from Oxford Golf Resort. Even the grown-ups were engaged in exciting activities that included stack attack, egg tray ping pong, balancing the golf ball, and more. Network, Integrate & Enjoy is the ethos of our club and Kite Fest is a perfect platform for members to live the ethos” said Preeti Roongta, Co-Founder, and Pune Expat Club. A professional kite designer & flyer, Mr. Ashok Shah & his team of national fame were specially invited from Gujarat to add Charm to the Kite Fest. Kites from all over the world were brought by participants for this fest. The event witnessed CXOs, HNI’s, Managing Directors and other senior corporate executives transform into kite flying coaches for their children and this was a perfect setting for them to let out the kids within.”
